Encarta has a streamed advertisement theme and is a good showcase of the breadth of functionality in DirectAnimation. It starts with text-built effects, and it shows blending between a 3-D and a 2-D animation of the product box.
It has interactive animate illustrations that jump from the product box, including: a video stream, a 2-D geometry based animation of the Pythagorean proof, and a 3-D simulation of the Sun with the Earth and the Moon. After these illustrations parade themselves through autonomous animations, it is possible to click on them and interact with them in a full window mode.
You can pause and playback the video stream, repeat the Pythagorean proof animation and drag the vertices and triangle, and navigate around the planets by pressing the left mouse button.
